Lieke had found her place in bed again, extremely tired by the events that took place that night and the night before. She had just realised how intense it had been with Thomas. But in a good way. She would do it all over again.

She was wearing one of Thomas' training jerseys, the six proudly showing on her chest. It still smelled like him, which made it even better.
Thomas his phone rang, and when Thomas didn't come into the room, she grabbed it.
“Thomas, you're getting a call.” she said, not recognising the name.
Her voice seemed to do it, as he came back. His hair still wet from the shower, waterdrops still visible on his chest. He had put on underwear and she wondered what he had done in the bathroom for him to take so long.
He looked at the name, frowned slowly. He gave her a peck before he exited the room.
Lieke turned on her belly, to follow him with her eyes. She was curious now, wondering who the hell had called him at this time.

She closed her eyes, humming her favorite song by Aly&AJ. It didn't take long for Thomas to come back, but it felt like forever. Especially with her curiosity taking over.
“Lieke.” Thomas said, once he got back.
She opened her eyes, looked sideways at him. Her head resting on her pillow.
“My dad got out of the hospital.” he smiled.
He looked so relieved, she practically jumped up to hug him.
Once her arms were around his neck, she felt him squeeze her closer.
“That's amazing news!” she cheered.
She pulled back, holding onto his arms with her hands.
“Right?!” she said, when he didn't answer.
Then she saw all the relief coming over him. A few tears appeared as he nodded happily.
“I'm sorry.” he said, wiping his tears away.
“For what?” she laughed softly. She stood up properly next to him, cursing herself for being so small.
She cupped his face, made him look at her.
“I would have had the exact same reaction. It's normal to cry when you're relieved. Don't think I think you're weak or whatever is going on in that pretty head of yours.”
He breathed out slowly.
“You're too good for me.” he smiled.
She shook her head. She realised he wasn't expressing his feelings properly and she hated that.
She wanted him to be entirely free in his feelings.
“What do you want right now? You want to talk about the call.” she said quietly.
He looked at her, really looked at her, as if it was the first time he saw her. And then he shook his head.
“I'm just.. happy. And I really want to go back to Denmark soon.”
He bit his lip, she knew he was biting back his tears.
“You can. You should. Next week.” she said, nodding heavily. He smiled through his upcoming tears.
“You need the moments with your family before it's too late. Football is fun, but it's hard with your family in another country.” she sighed. “I mean, Mats never left Germany, but it's hard not to see him more often. It is for my parents too.”
Her hands moved quietly around his neck, as he connected his arms around her waist.
“You two are really close, aren't you?” he asked.
“We really are. We may not show it as much, but he's always there for me. And I am for him, especially in the times Benedikt and him got together and nobody knew yet.”
He nodded, as she put a lose curl back to the side of his head. He chuckled, and she did too.
“Family is important, Thomas. Grab the changes you get to see them.”
“What about you?” he murmured.
“What about me?” she smiled sweetly. “I can miss you for a week, don't worry.”
“But maybe I can't.” he admitted, scrunching his noise.

And at that moment there was something inside of her that told her he was here to stay. Even in his fragile moments, he knew how to make her feel like she was the most important person on this planet. And she didn't know how to react to that. It was almost too much for her.
“We will call every day. Text every second.” she whispered, standing on her tiptoes to get closer to his face.
“We better.” he sighed happily, connecting their lips.

He held her in her arms for a while. Rocking her back and forth quietly. And she let him. Also because she didn't want to leave him. She loved his touch, especially touches like this. No pressure, no lust, just.. well, love?
It couldn't be. Not so fast. But it felt like it so badly.

A silent tear escaped her eyes, realising she was finally here with him. Like it just dawned upon her, she was actually with the man she liked. It wasn't because she was crazy for love. Crazy to be in a relationship. It was the feeling of someone caring for you. Someone smiling at you when you're in a crowded room. Someone who always seems to understand you.

“Hey, Thomas.” she whispered, opening her eyes. “Let's go to bed.”
He didn't answer, but his moves made sure he agreed. His hand never left hers, and maybe that made her feel happier than needed. He opened the duvets, letting her in first.
And as soon as he layed down next to her, she intertwined their legs. She wanted to be as close as possible right now.
She rested her head on her hand as she gazed at Thomas. He caressed her cheek quietly. A shaky breath left his mouth.
“I'm glad you don't hide your feelings with me.” she finally admitted to him. “I know it's hard, so there's no need in hiding it.”
“I guess you do that to me. Normally-” he shrugged, closing his eyes for a second.
“Go on.” she whispered, stopping his tracks on her cheek and intertwining their fingers.
“It's just that normally I'm not like that with someone new. But then again, you're not really new, are you?”
He looked at their hands, his thumb stroking her hand softly.
“It feels weird, doesn't it? We waited so long and now- now it almost feels like forever.” she spoke.
“It does, it really does.” he smiled. “But that's a good thing.”
She smiled at him. A relaxed, comforting smile.

What followed was maybe the most passionate kiss they had ever shared. All their feelings poured into one kiss. They needed eachother the most in that moment. Thomas was holding onto her hand for dear life, which were just resting underneath their chins.
Eventually Lieke needed to get some breath, and as she opened her eyes, she saw Thomas looking at her. A blush appeared on her face and he smiled. Lieke could see he was thinking. His head was full with thoughts, but they all seemed to be about her. As he followed her every move.
“We should go to sleep.” she giggled. She knew that if they kept looking at eachother like that, it would turn out in another round of sex and right now, she wasn't in the mood. She just wanted to be with Thomas. Feel his feelings together with him. Experiencing his smiles and chuckles all over again.
“You aren't tired yet, are you?” she realised then, as he didn't really move.
“Not anymore.” he admitted, an apologising smile on his face.
“I understand.” she laughed.
“But, lay with me please. I will be happy watching you fall asleep in my arms.” he then said, making her face drop.
“You're the sweetest man I've ever met.” she blurted out, making him smile brightly.
She turned around in his arms. He pulled her closer with his arm around her waist. She felt his chin in the crook of her neck and she closed her eyes.
“You're forgetting something.” he whispered softly.
“And that is?” she asked.
“I want a goodnight kiss.” he said.
When she opened her eyes again, she saw him pouting, making her smile. Her body shook lightly from laughter.
“How could I forget.” she muttered, placing her hand on his cheek and kissing him softly.
“Good?” she asked, and he nodded.
She layed back down, feeling him scoot just a bit closer. It wasn't really possible, but to them it felt like it was.

And Lieke felt save underneath his touch. His legs laying on hers, his arm around her waist. Her hand on his. He was almost hovering above her and she felt so comfortable with him there.
She heard him make some noises, as if he was thinking and realising things. And she smiled, listening to it until she fall asleep.
But before that happened, she heard him say something she would never forget.

“Thank you.” he had whispered. So softly she had barely heard it. He had kissed a bit of bare skin on her shoulder and had sighed. “Thank you for being you. And for chosing me.”
