The moment Thomas woke up, he knew there was something wrong. His body was pushing against Lieke, who was already on the edge of the bed and felt Simons big hand gripping into his waist. He turned around immediately, pushing Simon back a little for more space.
But he immediately saw the worry in Simons face. He was groaning softly, shaking his head, sighing loudly. His hand which was still on Thomas was gripped into him again and he quickly let his own hand embrace it.
He listened to his murmurs and then noticed the sweat on his forehead. Thomas wanted to wake him up, but he wasn't sure that was good idea.
“Thomas.” Simon suddenly said, making him alert. But Simon didn't wake up, he was talking in his sleep.
“Thomas? No, no no no, Thomas! Thomas!”
That was enough for Thomas. He moved closer to Simon and took his cheeks in between his hands. He wasn't sure what was going to happen, but he didn't want Simon to suffer anymore.
“Simon.” he said softly.
Simon started struggling a bit and Thomas sighed.
“Simon wake up, honey.”
It felt like he was reacting to Thomas by shaking his head. But Thomas quickly noticed he was struggling in his dream.
Thomas did the first thing he could think of and kissed him. Simon stopped moving immediately and his eyes opened slowly.
“Thomas?” he asked. He had woken up finally.
“Hey.” Thomas whispered. “Are you okay?”
Simon shook his head as tears started to fall down.
“Oh god, Simon.” he said, taking him in his arm.
It broke Thomas heart the moment he felt Simon come so close. And even though he was barely able to breath, because of Simon holding onto him, he held him in his arms until Simon calmed down.
“You're okay.” he whispered. “We are here for you. We are here and your dream was just a dream.”
“I'm scared.” Simon stuttered and Thomas really never wanted to let go.
He made Simon look at him and the fear in his eyes made him worry.
“What happened?” he whispered. “Why did you say my name?”
Simons lip quivered and he shook his head.
“I-” he tried, but he didn't know where to start. Thomas stroked his cheek and kissed him softly.
“Let's calm down first.” he whispered, making Simon nod.
“I'm going to leave you, just for a few seconds.”
“A-alright.” he said quietly.
“I will be back before you know it.” Thomas smiled weakly.
He quickly got out of bed and ran to the bathroom.
Lieke had opened her eyes pretty quickly after Simon had woken up. But the moment she saw Thomas all over him, calming him down, she relaxed a little. She smiled as Thomas left the bed and let Simon know she was awake too.
“Come here.” she muttered, and Simon immediately came closer
“Was the dream about us?” she asked softly, which made him nod.
“We are here, okay. We are not going anywhere without you.”
He smiled weakly, but she saw he wasn't really sure about that.
Thomas came back with a wet washcloth in his hand. Simon sat up a little and Lieke followed him. The moment Thomas noticed she was awake too he smiled softly at her.
“Alright, let's clean you up a bit first.” he muttered, sitting down in between Simons legs. Simon just looked at him.
He felt a bit ashamed with all that was happening, but with the fear still flowing freely through his body, he was happy Thomas was trying to help him.
He felt the warm washcloth against his forehead and he had to admit, it did made him calm down a little. Thomas other hand found his cheek, caressing it softly.
“Thank you.” Simon said quietly and Thomas just smiled.
“You want to tell us what happened now?” he asked, sitting back down. He threw the washcloth onto the nightstand and rested his hand on Simons legs.
“I, uh..” Simon closed his eyes. Trying to control his breathing.
“Slow breaths, honey. Take your time.” Lieke said softly, her hand holding onto his.
He nodded, before he opened his eyes again.
“I dreamed that I was back at my old... job. And you both came in and I didn't understand why I was back. And I wanted to explain it to you guys. But you didn't let me. You were so mad and then Thomas was just gone.. he left me. And..” he looked down at Lieke. “Then you left too and I was all alone and I started screaming your names, but nothing happened.”
Thomas immediately sat up on his knees, so he could look Simon in his eyes.
“But then you woke up and I was right next to you, Simon.” he said quickly, cupping his face.
“I was here. I am here.” he kept repeating. “Lieke is too.”
Simon nodded as he stared into Thomas his eyes.
“You believe me right?”
Simon nodded again, his eyes getting teary again.
“Come here.” Thomas sighed, taking Simon back into his arms.
Thomas felt Simon was still shaking, but he was definitely doing better. He smiled as he saw Lieke embrace Simon from behind and kiss his shoulder.
They sat like this for about ten minutes. Thomas had noticed Lieke was getting sleepy again, which made him laugh softly. And even though Simon was still fully awake, he saw he had calmed down too.
“You want to lay down again?” he asked the blonde man, who nodded.
Lieke looked up, her eyes little again, making Simon smile softly.
Without saying word she crawled back to her space and both Simon and Thomas laughed.
“It's sweet she stayed awake for you.” Thomas giggled sweetly.
Simon looked at him and sighed relieved. His eyes wondered down to Thomas his lips and the latter looked at him with a smile on his face.
“Kiss me, honey.” he whispered. Simom immediately looked up, as he smiled shyly.
He leaned forward and let his lips connect with Thomas again. He breathed out slowly, feeling Thomas lips slowly taking the lead. Which right now, he really loved. He needed Thomas.
Simons hand moved up to Thomas neck and played with his curls. Thomas smiled in between the kiss and Simon stopped the kiss as he leaned his forehead against Thomas.
He was breathing heavily and Thomas couldn't help but stare at him.
“I love you.” Simon whispered.
“I love you too, Simon.” he whispered back. “I always have.”
Thomas thumb moved over to Simons lip and moved over it slowly as they stared at each other.
Thomas closed the gap again and kissed him slowly. Letting all his feelings go free.
Once Simon was ready to go back to sleep, Thomas moved him over to his space. He figured what Simon needed was to be in between the people he loved most. He couldn't help but laugh, because the moment Simon layed down on his back, Lieke immediately cuddled up to him. Simon looked up at Thomas surprised, as her leg moved over him. A big, loving smile moving over his face.
“See, she loves you even when she's sleeping.” Thomas muttered, just as in awe as Simon was.
He opened his arms for Thomas, who immediately layed down next to him. His arm tightened around his shoulder immediately and Thomas rested his chin on Simons chest as he looked up at him.
“I shouldn't have gone to sleep.” Thomas murmured, making Simon smile.
“I was okay, I swear.” he muttered. “I just fell asleep really late. But I was fine holding you close.”
Thomas smile shyly, kissing Simons chest quietly. Simons hand found his curls again and played with them mindlessly.
“Do you think you can sleep again? Otherwise we will take some more time.” Thomas asked. “And don't say I can go to sleep, because I won't be going to sleep without you now.”
Simon layed his head back and laugh softly. Thomas was glad he was reacting that way. It made him feel better too.
“If you stay with me, I will fall asleep eventually.” he answered softly, making Thomas his eyes twinkle.
“I'm not going anywhere.” he whispered.
He moved himself up and kisses his jaw slowly, making Simon sigh.
“Don't make me feel like that right now.” he giggled.
Thomas chuckled and came closer, kissing his cheek.
“Just wanted to kiss you.” he muttered, reconnecting their lips.
Simon moved his head to Thomas his side, while his left arm pulled Lieke closer to him. She sighed in her sleep, making Simons heart warm. Thomas had layed his head down next to his in the crack of his neck. And Simon could easily rest his chin on Thomas his curls.
He smiled, shivering slightly from the aftermath, but feeling a lot better. He was sure he wasn't gonna sleep soon and he knew Thomas was already trying to hold back his sleep. But it was okay. With both Lieke and Thomas in his arms he felt safe.
After all he knew his dream had been a lie, but it had scared him a lot. Luckily, Thomas and Lieke were there for him. They always were and that made him feel like the luckiest guy ever. He felt Thomas his breathing relax, and the hand that had been stroking his stomach stopped slowy. Simon chuckled quietly and pushed a kiss onto Thomas his curls.
With a smile on his face he looked at Lieke and Thomas, before his lips found Thomas curls and he muttered the words he had been wanting to say the whole time.
“Sleep well, sunshine. Thank you, for everything.”
